Impacts of Civic Technology Conference (TICTeC) 2025

Erika and Joscha attended TICTeC 2025 in Mechelen, Belgium. TICTeC — the Impacts of Civic Technology Conference — is the world’s leading summit on pro-democracy technology, organized by mySociety. The 2025 edition marked the conference’s 10th anniversary, bringing together 212 participants from 37 countries who work at the intersection of technology and democracy. This year’s program focused on three core themes: access to information and open data, democracy and politics, and climate change. For each theme, sessions explored both defensive approaches to safeguarding democratic openness and constructive approaches to building democratic capacity.
