With Wikidata at the Digital Social Summit #dss2022

Events

The dome stands for transparency: Open Parliament TV has made the Bundestag debates, which are available online, searchable and linked them to Wikidata knowledge. Why? In social media, excerpts of speeches often spread without context. This is a negative side of digitalisation and leads to frustration, rage and division. Searchable debates provide the context for counter-research and enable fact-checking. Because: The Bundestag is the central place for debate in the Federal Republic. What is said there must be openly and freely available to everyone, including additional information on key words and speakers. Open data does good things if you let it.
